Blackburn manager Steve Kean has stated that his side will move quickly to sign new players in the January transfer window, with a number of targets already identified.
The Ewood Park club sit bottom of the Premier League currently, and pressure is mounting on the Scottish coach to lead an upsurge in the Lancashire outfit’s form.
With the likes of Ryan Nelson, Scott Dann and Gael Givet all on the sidelines with injury, Kean is eager to strengthen his squad in the new year.
“What we will do is try to get the business done quick, but keep the names private,” he told Sky Sports.
“I’ve spoken to the owners for many hours over the last few days and will be sitting down on Thursday and getting things kicked off. We want to make sure we get people in as quickly as possible.
“If you look at the amount of people we have got on the sidelines, we are quite thin on the grounds. Strengthening in the early part of the window will be key,” he concluded.
Blackburn end 2011 by travelling to take on Premier League champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
