da blaze casino: Glasgow Rangers looked out of sorts in the 1-0 win over Lech Poznan in the Europa League at Ibrox on Thursday night in a result which arguably has left Steven Gerrard with as many questions as answers.
da betano casino: The Light Blues struggled to break down Dariusz Zuraw’s side before Alfredo Morelos came off the bench to equal Ally McCoist’s European goalscoring record for the Glasgow giants.
Despite the somewhat disappointing display, Rangers have now recorded back-to-back wins in Group D which sees them move level on points with Benfica, who they face next week in a clash at the top of the table on the back of a 16-game unbeaten streak stretching all the way back to the 1-0 win over Aberdeen FC at the start of the season.
Whilst there were some standouts, that doesn’t excuse the fact that there were a few others who left a lot to be desired, none more so than Ianis Hagi, who struggled to make an impact before the Romania international was replaced by Joe Aribo in the second half.
SofaScore graded Hagi as one of the worst players on the pitch with a dismal 6.7 rating – he lost possession 17 times, won only two out of seven duels in total, was dribbled past once and only managed to complete one out of two dribble attempts.
GlasgowLive gave Hagi a 6/10 and claimed he had “a few untidy moments on the ball and struggled to influence the game as he did at the weekend” whilst The Daily Record were equally scathing in their review, insisting that he “tried to provide the creative spark and looked the part in flashes but didn’t link with Tavernier as effectively as usual.”
No matter how hard Hagi tried, he just looked incredibly lightweight, a fact which didn’t go down well with several Rangers supporters. To make matters worse, the 22-year-old was largely anonymous as well, with even Steven Davis and Glen Kamara winning more duels themselves.
It’s perhaps hardly surprising he was pulled before the 70th minute as Gerrard had seen enough and he has every reason to be concerned as Aribo has recently recovered from injury, so his place is by no means guaranteed in the starting line-up.
If his performance is anything to go by, Hagi could be rested for the game against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon. One thing’s for sure, Gerrard is hardly short of options.
AND in other news, Glasgow Rangers must regret not signing Nottingham Forest striker Lyle Taylor…
