da bwin: Our landlord here at the Transfer Tavern has been very impressed with how well Middlesbrough have played this season as they returned to the Premier League, though this January window could be vital for the club and their climb up the table.
da bet7: Boro have already been active in the window adding the likes of Patrick Bamford and Rudy Gestede to their striking ranks, but they still have some work to do and could do with adding some depth to their midfield.
With Adam Forshaw being a stand out star for his side this season, its time they add someone who can slot in alongside him or play off him and help add something to the set-up. A player to bring something slightly different to what he can offer. With the side looking to progress they must simply act fast this January and bring in at least one midfielder.
With that, surely ONE of these TWO midfielders should join Middlesbrough in January…
JACK CORK
The former Chelsea and Southampton man has been superb in an otherwise dismal season for his Swansea City side and with them in danger of the drop it could give him an incentive to leave the Welsh side and make the move up the table to Boro.
The 27-year-old would be a waste should he decide to stay at Swansea, especially if they are to go down. It would be a smart deal for both club and player, as he is able to break up play before pushing forward. A deep-lying playmaker of this ilk would be a very good addition indeed.
SERGIO CANALES
Aitor Karanka loves bringing in a player from his native Spain, and rightfully so!
They have some brilliant talents and this guy is no different.
The Real Sociedad star has been superb for the side after arriving from Valencia a number of years back, but maybe now could be the time he tries his hand at football in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old would be hard to lure to the club but well worth any investment made in him.
