da stake casino: Spurs have their best chance at a top four spot since 2012 and it looks as though Pochettino is going to grasp the opportunity with both hands as Manchester United slip off the pace and the Lilywhites continue their fine form.
da pixbet: Pochettino’s squad already is blessed with plenty of depth and quality throughout, but the manager is likely to add to the side in this window as Daniel Levy will be eyeing a push for the title with Arsenal and Manchester City struggling to find enough consistency to pull away from Spurs.
As the loss of Gareth Bale hurt so deeply, the squad is finally back to as strong as it was around that time and it is, as much as anything, crucial that the club keep hold of their best players throughout the next few seasons.
Harry Kane’s form will be crucial whatever happens in the rest of the campaign and Pochettino will need to molly-cuddle the England international if he isn’t going to add to the striking department.
Here is an ideal XI for Spurs…
Hugo Lloris
The French stopper is still under rated by so many in the Premier League and, without Champions League football, might look on to pastures new.
Vorm is an adequate deputy, but he doesn’t live up to the same standards as Lloris.
Kyle Walker
Trippier has occasionally stepped in for Walker this season, but the England international has been brilliant throughout the campaign.
The loss of a yard of pace has made the full-back become more sensible in his defence.
Toby Alderweireld
Alderweireld is arguably the signing of the season to date and would walk into every team of the season you see going at the moment.
The Belgian has built a good relationship with Vertonghen and Lloris and is one of the best players in Europe at the moment.
Jan Vertonghen
Spurs’ other Belgian centre-half, Vertonghen, has had plenty of centre-back partners during his time at the club but has clearly built the most solid relationship with Alderweireld.
Jose Gaya
Valencia’s left full-back has drawn the plaudits from many of Europe’s biggest names and, despite the quality of Rose and Davies, would be a huge improvement for the Spurs squad.
The way that Eriksen drifts centrally requires the full-back to overlap to stretch the play and Gaya’s game would fit for that.
Eric Dier
In his new role as a central midfielder, Dier has been a revelation as he has protected the back four sternly and kept Bentaleb and Mason out of the XI.
Dele Alli
Alli, who looks nailed on to go to the Euros now, has been a magnificent signing for this season and is beginning to contribute more and more goals.
Most recently, the youngster scored a stunning volley and is quickly becoming an integral part of the squad.
Yacine Brahimi
With competition for Brahimi likely to be incredibly high, Spurs will need to make a huge bid to bring in Porto’s flying winger but his performances have shown that he would be well worth the price tag.
His direct running and eye for goal would take some of the work load off of Kane and would be well backed up by Son and Lamela.
Michy Batshuayi
Linked to half of the Premier League, or so it seems, Batshuayi would largely be expected to compete with Kane for the starting role, but the Marseille striker could be brought in to operate as part of a front two and allow Kane to play as the 10.
Christian Eriksen
Eriksen is still struggling for consistency at Spurs and needs to find some regular form if he is to nail down a place in the XI with new signings and improving players all around him.
The Dane is still a class act, but has been eclipsed by both Alli and Lamela throughout much of this season.
Harry Kane
Super Harry Kane is a Spurs hero already and the records continue to tumble as his goal scoring exploits continue to carry Spurs’ hopes for Champions League football.
Kane’s form this season has proved any ‘one season wonder’ doubters wrong and helped Spurs push on for a potential title challenge.
