da poker: Mark Hughes believes he has a new player in his ranks whose personal disappointments will help fire Fulham up the English Premier League.
da apostebet: Hughes recruited young Chelsea starlet Gael Kakuta on loan from Chelsea in the January transfer window but it is a similar deal for Stoke’s Eidur Gudjohnsen that has got the Welsh manager excited ahead of his side’s trip to Fulham on Saturday.
Former Chelsea and Barcelona striker Gudjohnsen, 32, has joined the west London side after making just four Premier League appearances under Tony Pulis since joining the Potters prior to the season.
“He wants to get his career back on track,” said Hughes. “He’s got a point to prove – there are a lot of people who question where his career is at the moment and he wants to put that right.”
“He’s come to a club that will help him with the way we prepare and play and he’s looking forward to it.”
“Given the pedigree that he has of winning trophies, it was an easy decision.”
Full-back John Pantsil could be included in the squad that to Villa Park and, should he get a chance, he will be playing for his future.
“There are a number of players this year that are in the last year of their contracts and we’re working our way through them,” Hughes said.
“I’ve spoken to John on a number of occasions. He needs to play well between now and the end of the season and I’m sure we’ll have the conversation then.”
Gudjohnsen is likely to start on the substitutes bench against Villa but he is expected to make a big impact when he is introduced.
First-choice forward Bobby Zamora and central defender Philippe Senderos – who is still to make his first-team debut for the club – are two weeks away from rejoining full training.
Dickson Etuhu is sidelined with a hamstring injury so Steve Sidwell, who joined from Aston Villa in January, will continue to partner Danny Murphy in central midfield.
